ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bengaluru campus hosted the Annual Review Meeting of the Consortium Research Platform on Vaccines and Diagnostics for 2024-25 in Bengaluru on 23rd-24th October 2025.
Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences), ICAR, emphasized the CRP on V&D’s integrated research approach across Animal Sciences, Fisheries, and Livestock, commending its success in developing innovative technologies that benefit farmers. He also stressed the importance of strategic project management, exploring new research areas such as non-bovine milk, cloning, genome editing, and ‘One Health,’ while underscoring industry partnerships to effectively market innovations and enhance stakeholder livelihoods.
Dr. Pallab Chaudhuri, Joint Director, ICAR-IVRI, Bengaluru campus cum Project Coordinator, CRP on V&D presented an overview of the progress of the CRP on the V&D platform and mentioned that 3 technologies have been released, 8 technologies commercialized and 7 patents filed.

Dr Divakar Hemadri, Assistant Director General (Animal Health), Dr Shubhadeep Ghosh, Assistant Director General (Marine Fisheries) and Dr. Bikash Mandal, Assistant Director General (International Relations), Dr S.K. Singh, Joint Director (Res), ICAR-IVRI (on virtual mode) also participated in the review meeting and provided critical suggestions.
The forum reviewed 31 ongoing research projects. Sector coordinators from all 3 sectors, Principal Investigators and Co-investigators from 14 ICAR research institutes, registered their participation during the meeting. They presented progress reports for the year 2024-25 and outlined targets for 2025-26. It was decided to initiate demand driven research under the next EFC.
