ICAR-CIBA New Startup initiative with M/s. Om Sai Aqua for evaluating the the effect marine protein hydrolysate on the growth and survival of Pacific White Shrimp, Penaeus vannamei

ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture joined hands with the team of Om Sai Aqua, a dynamic startup dedicated to providing services tailored specifically for functional feed additives today. The present MoU is for evaluating the utility of marine protein hydrolysate on the growth and survival of Pacific White Shrimp, Penaeus vannamei.

This MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Lal, Director ICAR-CIBA who highlighted the importance of scientific testing and validation of feed additives s   and its role in aquaculture of shrimp. Dr K. Ambasankar, Principal Scientist and team leader for this work program, briefed about the genesis and significance of this MoU and outlined scope of its use in shrimp aquaculture under farming conditions as a palatability enhancer and immune stimulant.

Mr. B. Venkateswarlu, Managing Partner of Om Sai Aqua  highlighted that this effort will undoubtedly improve the economic benefits, contribute to innovation and growth, and encourage sustainability and competitiveness in the aqua feed and explained about their company’s initiatives in providing research solutions based on marine protein hydrolysate. The meeting was organized by institute technology management unit.
