he Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers conducted today across eight districts of Andhra Pradesh under ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, demonstrated extensive outreach through coordinated extension and capacity-building activities by 8 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). A total of 8 awareness programmes covering 285 farmers and 3 training programmes benefitting 97 farmers were organized to promote balanced fertiliser application, soil health management, and sustainable nutrient use practices.

One interface meeting involving 2 participants and one stakeholder interaction covering 25 participants were also conducted. Through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other digital platforms, KVK scientists achieved a substantial social media outreach of 1,07,552 farmers, while 506 farmers were reached through direct physical contact and field-level interactions.
Demonstrations on biofertilizer use (3) and other nutrient management practices (2) further strengthened field-level awareness and adoption. Overall, the campaign generated a cumulative outreach of 1,08,058 farmer contacts across the participating districts under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad.
Under the Intensive Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, extensive awareness and extension activities were conducted on 22.05.2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry involving 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).
A total of 26 awareness programmes covering 1,219 farmers and 8 training programmes benefitting 285 farmers were organized to promote balanced fertiliser application, soil health management, and sustainable nutrient use practices. In addition, one interface meeting involving 2 participants and stakeholder interactions covering 54 participants were conducted.

KVK scientists disseminated technical advisories and awareness messages through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other digital platforms, achieving a substantial social media outreach of 1,36,563 farmers. Further, 1,768 farmers were reached through direct physical contact and field-level interactions.
Demonstrations on green manuring (5), biofertilizer use (6), and other nutrient management practices (6) were also conducted to strengthen field-level adoption of scientific fertiliser management practices. Overall, the campaign generated a cumulative outreach of 1,38,331 farmer contacts across the participating states under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad.
